Baloch Bar boycott court proceedings on missing persons

Occupied Balochistan: Lawyers boycotted court proceedings in parts of Balochistan on Wednesday in protest against non-recovery of Baloch missing persons and killing political opponents during their illegal detention with the State functionaries. The strike was observed in Quetta, Khuzdar, Turbat, Gwadar, Naushki, Awaran, Mastung, Kalat, Mand, Tump, Panjgur and other Baloch dominant townships of Balochistan in response to the call given by the Baloch Bar Association. The lawyers did not appear before the superior and lower courts and all the cases were adjourned to next date of hearing. The also displayed black flags outside the bar rooms to mark the black day. Some of the lawyers wore black armband as a mark of protest. According to statement issued here, spokesman of the Baloch Bar Association said that extra judicial arrest and hostage taking of Baloch activists is still continued and no Baloch missing person has so far been recovered. He said that Munir Ahmed Mirani Advocate has been missing from Khuzdar for the past several months but his whereabouts are not be known to this date. He said that missing persons should be resurfaced or recovered safe and sound without making further delay and if they were involved in any offence then must be tried in courts of law.http://dailybalochistanexpress.com/archive_news/25112010/express/news/news6.htm
