Relatives of Baloch enforced-disappeared activists refused to appear before govt commission for missing persons

Occupied Balochistan: The Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) Chairman Nasrullah Baloch has expressed his distrust in Joint Investigation Team (JIT) and the judicial commission, saying he and his associates would not appear before the team which is due on Saturday (today). “Supreme Court, UN and International Human Rights Organisations should take notice of Pakistan secret securities accesses in Balochistan”. Mr Baloch expressed these views while speaking to visitors and reporters at a hunger strike camp set up outside the Quetta Press Club on Friday. The Vice Chairman of VMBP Qadeer Baloch was also present at the Press Club at the time of Press Conference, they said “ The eyewitnesses got their statements recorded more than ten times before JIT and the judicial commission, but both failed to issue any report regarding missing persons during the last two years, instead these commissions and the state officials tried to sweep this issue under the carpet by saying that the enforced-disappeared person have gone underground due to personal enmities”. Nasrullah Baloch said in reality these people have been abducted and killed under-custody by Pakistan’s intelligence agencies. The relatives of these people have nominated the personal of Intelligence agencies and the FC (Frontier Corps) in their FIRs, Press conferences and legal petitions to courts. He said that government was not taking this grave human tragedy seriously and instead making it more complicated by forming different commissions and committees. Despite recorded statement of eye-witnesses no action has been taken against the perpetrators. “The current so called democratic government is equally responsible for the abductions and under-custody killings of Baloch activists”, he charged. Strongly criticising Pakistan’s federal interior minister Mr Baloch said that Rehman Malik time and time again comes on media and lies that only 44 Baloch are missing and among them few reside abroad, “We strongly reject and condemn such statements of the state minister and would like to inform him that thousands of Baloch political, student, human right and social activists have been abducted by state’s intelligence agencies and they being illegally detained in secret prisons run by military intelligence across country [Pakistan]. We would also like to inform him that in past fourteen months over two hundred people have been killed and dump under the new state policy of kill and dump in Balochistan”. Why can’t Rehman Malik see those over two hundred tortured and riddled with bullets bodies? Moreover, he said that relatives of missing persons have registered 450 cases against security agencies including those who have now been killed and dumped. He before that the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons had collected the full details 1,100 abducted Baloch persons and the Organisation has been constantly protesting from past two and half years for the recovery of Baloch enforced-disappeared persons. JIT and the judicial commissions have only recorded the testimonies but have never taken this issue seriously. He demanded from the Chief Justice of Pakistan, United Nations and International Human Rights Organisations to take notice of human rights violations in Balochistan and paly their due role for the safe and early release of enforced-disappeared Baloch activists.
