Voice For Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) has announced to hold a conference in Lahore against disappearances, kill and dump and discovery of mass graves in Balochistan. The Long March of VBMP has also reached Lahore. The marchers have continuously been receiving threats to shun the march or face death. According to many reports even the journalists have been barred to give media coverage to VBMP Long March. The personnel of intelligence agencies have ordered the journalists to not report about the March while they are in Punjab and Islamabad. The participants have also expressed their resentment against the people of Punjab for not responding positively to the long march. “I am astonished at the unresponsive behaviour of people of Punjab. I had heard that Punjabis are educated but when I reached here I see the total opposite. If they were educated they would have known about Balochistan,” said Farzana Majeed who is walking with the marchers from Quetta. She is also the General Secretary of VBMP.It is worth mentioning that a BBC journalist once went on roads of Punjab to ask people whether they know anything about Balochistan or can they name any city of Balochistan. They replied to the journalist that they don’t know anything about history. They could only name Sui in Balochistan because it is the place from where gas is supplied to Punjab and other cities of Pakistan.
