VBMP protest against enforced disappearances enters 1890th day

Karachi: The token hunger strike of VBMP against enforced-disappearances in Balochistan has reached in 1890 days on Monday. A number of political and social workers have visited and shown their solidarity with the family members at the Camp in front of Karachi Press Club. They also assured their full cooperation and said because of continuous enforced-disappeared in Balochistan there is a sense of anger among common people. They the recovery of mutilated bodies on regular basis is traumatising and it shows that Baloch political prisoners’ lives are at risk because the mutilated bodies that have already been found were of those who have been abducted by the Pakistani security forces before a few months or years. They further said that the silence of media and civil society regarding the abduction of Baloch workers is their philanthropic and professional role. Mama Qadir (vice chairmen VBMP), Banuk Farzana Majeed ( Sectary General VBMP) and Sami Baloch told that visitors that Voice for Baloch Missing Persons has been recording its protest though different peaceful methods including the historical long march, continuous protests and organising seminars and awareness meetings. During those peaceful protest we had experienced the so called powerless Supreme Court of Pakistan and other state instructions. They said that the whole state institutions have become powerless in front of Pakistani Security forces. “The Baloch people do not trust these pseudo institutions of Pakistan.” Mama Qadir has said that enforced-disappeared Baloch are political prisoners. He said, “We appeal to the civilized nations to play their role under the international covenants for the safe release of about 20,000 abducted Baloch activists.”
