Occupied Balochistan, PASNI: A Baloch magazine journalist in the conflict-stricken Balochistan was “kidnapped” allegedly by the state intelligence agencies while traveling from the provincial capital, Quetta, to his native Turbat District, family sources said.According to the details, Mohammad Ilyas Nazar, a young journalist in his 20s who is affiliated with Balochi language magazine Dhorant, was whisked away by the personnel of the security forces while he was returning home in a passenger coach. The officials stopped the bus at Badok locality near Pasni and asked the journalist to prove his identity.“As Nazar showed his identity card, the officials whisked him away,” said an eyewitness who was traveling with Nazar on the condition of anonymity for safety reasons, ” since then, we are totally clueless about Nazar’s whereabouts.”The source said Nazar worked at the Balochi language magazine as a copy editor and was never a part of any political party.“Nazar’s family members are very worried about his whereabouts because of the recent killings of the journalists in Balochistan,” said a close friend of the kidnapped journalist, “We appeal to the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take immediate notice of the kidnapping before Nazar’s captors harm him.”When contacted, local authorities said they had no knowledge about the incident.
