A Week Passed, Kobri Hoti is Still Languishing in Zahedan Central Prison

Zahedan – Kobri Hoti, a Baloch female student, who was arrested from her relative’s house in Iranshahr and transferred to Zahedan Central Prison without any due judicial procedure, is still in languishing in the prison despite passage after a week. Information collected from Baloch Activists’ Campaign, say that a week after the arrest of “Kobri Hothi”, she is still in custody and in limbo in Zahedan Central Prison. A 22 years old Kobari Hoti is the daughter of Pirbakhsh from Homiri, Qasrqand city, by profession an engineering student from Khash University of Industry and Mining, by hobby an environmental activist and animal lover. It is said that she was transferred to Zahedan Central Prison after her arrest and her family managed to meet with her, despite the fact that the judicial and military authorities informed the family that she will be released on bail in the coming days. But she is still in custody. The authorities have accused her of “political activity in cyberspace”. According to the 2022 annual report of the campaign of Baloch activists, they have collected 305 reports of arbitrary arrests and these reports are divided into two categories before the “Mahoo Baloch” movement and after it. After the news of the rape of a 15-year-old Baloch girl, Mahoo Baloch, by the police chief of Chabahar, protests were held in different regions of Balochistan, and nationwide protests, the number of arrests suddenly increased. A total of 307 Baloch citizens have been arrested by military forces in 2022.
