The Extrajudicial Killing of a 15-Year-Old Baloch Youth, Farzad Mollazehi, by Iranian Security Forces in Saravan:

22

The International Voice for Baloch Missing Persons strongly condemns the tragic, extrajudicial killing of 15-year-old Farzad Mollazehi, who was fatally shot by Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) security forces on Wednesday evening, June 17, 2026, in Saravan, Baluchestan.
According to verified field reports, Farzad Mollazehi, son of Nasrullah and a resident of Saravan, was commuting near Iranmehr Hospital when IRGC security personnel opened fire on him without any prior warning or order to stop. The teenager was struck directly in the head by gunfire.
Most distressingly, eyewitness accounts indicate that following the shooting, security forces on the scene actively blocked immediate medical intervention. Despite the severe injury occurring just steps away from Iranmehr Hospital, officers prevented local citizens and bystanders from approaching the bleeding teenager to administer first aid, significantly delaying any potential emergency medical access. Farzad subsequently succumbed to the severe trauma of the gunshot wound.
The release of the footage documenting Farzad has sparked deep outrage and widespread panic among the residents of Saravan, who are demanding transparent answers.
It reflects a continuous, systemic pattern of unprovoked force, lack of accountability, and structural discrimination faced by Baloch citizens under Iranian occupation. The deliberate targeting of a child and the weaponization of medical denial violate the fundamental right to life and violate basic international humanitarian standards.
We stand in profound solidarity with the family of Farzad Mollazehi. We urgently call upon international human rights organizations, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), and global civil society to break the silence surrounding these regional violations. We demand an immediate, independent international investigation into this killing to ensure that the perpetrators are held fully accountable. The ongoing culture of Iranian forces’ impunity in Baluchestan must end.
