SUKKUR, Sindh : A Baloch livestock trader, Muhammad Umar Bugti, was arrested and forcibly disappeared by Pakistani state security forces from the city of Sukkur on July 1, 2026.
Muhammad Umar, son of Karman Bugti, originally hails from the Sui tehsil of Dera Bugti, Balochistan. According to his family, he travels for his livelihood and had gone to the Sukkur cattle market (Maweshi Mandi) for his livestock business, where state personnel raided the location and abducted him. His current whereabouts remain entirely unknown.

The International Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (IVBMP) strongly condemns this arbitrary abduction of a working-class civilian. The IVBMP urgently appeals to the United Nations, human rights organizations, and the global democratic community to take notice of the systematic targeting of Baloch citizens even outside of Balochistan, demanding immediate international pressure to ensure the safe recovery of Muhammad Umar Bugti.
