Abdul Wajid was first abducted in August 2007 by FC and handed over to Intelligence agencies. They kept him in illegal custody for a month and later him in September, 2007.

According to news reports Abdul Wajid Baloch is the cousin of Martyred Baloch leader Sher Mohammad Baloch, who was abducted and killed in 2009 along with Ghulam Mohammad and Lala Munir Baloch. Mr Baloch was reabducted by Pakistani forces from Pasni Zero Point on 13 Feb, 2012 when he was travelling to Mand from Karachi.

Abdul Wajid Baloch has been released on 8 March, 2013 from Karachi after 13 months of illegal custody of Pakistani Security Forces.
