The Pakistani state continues its systematic campaign of human rights violations in Balochistan by targeting educated youth and students. On July 16, 2026, at approximately 1:30 AM, an innocent medical student, Dr. Shahab, son of Abdul Rashid, was forcibly abducted from his home in Quetta by Pakistani security forces. Dr. Shahab, a resident of Panjgur, had recently returned home from Azerbaijan on June 27, 2026, to spend his summer vacations with his family. This violent state raid has deprived an innocent student of his fundamental liberty, leaving his family in deep mental agony regarding his safety. The International Voice for Baloch Missing Persons strongly condemns this illegal abduction and the ongoing extrajudicial actions by state authorities. We urgently demand that the United Nations, international human rights organizations, and the UN Committee on Enforced Disappearances intervene immediately to hold Pakistan accountable and ensure his safe recovery.
