GWADER, Balochistan — In a deeply concerning incident highlighting the targeting of elderly citizens, an 85-year-old Baloch man was arrested and forcibly disappeared by Pakistani security forces in Gwadar.
The elderly man, identified as Jam Abdullah, son of Jam Musa, was detained on June 28, 2026, near the Door check post area of Gwadar. Abdullah is a resident of Dasht Sholig. Following his detention by the forces, his whereabouts have been kept entirely unknown, causing immense distress to his family given his advanced age and vulnerable health.
According to family sources, Abdullah’s brother, Huda Dad, had previously passed away after suffering a sudden, fatal heart attack during a high-handed military raid and search operation conducted by security forces.
The International Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (IVBMP) strongly condemns the arbitrary detention and enforced disappearance of an 85-year-old senior citizen. The organization views the targeting of the elderly as a severe violation of international humanitarian standards and urges global human rights bodies to immediately intervene to secure Jam Abdullah’s immediate disclosure and safe return.
