Jihand Baloch, central chairman of the Baloch Students Organisation, was detained at his home in Quetta’s Hudda area, On 24 July , 2026 according to the BSO.
Pakistani forces detained the central chairman of the Baloch Students Organisation (BSO), Jihand Baloch, from his home in Quetta and took him to an unknown location, while more than 20 others were rounded up in a series of separate raids in Mangochar, according to the organisation and local sources.
In a statement, the BSO said Pakistani forces raided Baloch’s home in Quetta’s Hudda area and took him into custody.
The organisation described him as the head of a student political body dedicated to democratic activism, noting this was already the third time he had faced enforced disappearance. The BSO called for him to be produced without delay and released without condition.
According to Baloch’s wife, officers from the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) forced their way into the family home at around 11pm and took him away.
“They threatened us at gunpoint, hit the children and dragged my husband, Jihand Baloch, out of the house. There has been no word on him since,” she said.
She appealed to the authorities to bring him before a court if he faced any charges, and insisted the family be told of his wellbeing and location if he was being held in official custody.
Separately, local sources reported that Pakistani forces carried out raids across several areas of Mangochar tehsil in Kalat district, beating residents and detaining upwards of 20 people. The names and current whereabouts of those held remain unknown.
The latest raids follow reports of ongoing military operations and movement restrictions across parts of Kalat and neighbouring Mastung district. A day earlier, five people, among them a woman and three children, were reportedly seized by Pakistani forces in Mastung, while a curfew remains in force in the district’s Khadkocha area. Further operations have also been reported elsewhere in Mastung and Kalat, and one resident was reportedly killed in Khuzdar when shelling by Pakistani forces struck a residential area.
